Submitting a takedown notice

If you believe content on SINAI infringes your copyright, send a written notice to dmca@sinaicinema.com containing all of the following (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)):

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list if multiple works).
  3. Identification of the material claimed to be infringing and its location on SINAI — include the full URL(s).
  4. Your contact information: full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

Incomplete notices may be rejected. Knowingly submitting a false notice can expose you to liability for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

What happens after you file a notice

  1. We review the notice for completeness, typically within 2 business days.
  2. If valid, we remove or disable access to the identified material and notify the creator who uploaded it.
  3. We forward a copy of your notice (including your contact information) to that creator.
  4. The creator may submit a counter-notice (see below). If they do, we will share it with you and may restore the material 10–14 business days later unless you file a court action.

Submitting a counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to dmca@sinaicinema.com containing all of the following (17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3)):

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your full legal name, mailing address, and telephone number.
  5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if outside the U.S., that you consent to the jurisdiction of any judicial district in which SINAI may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent.

Knowingly submitting a false counter-notice can expose you to liability for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

Repeat infringer policy

We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of creators who are repeat copyright infringers. A creator who accumulates multiple valid DMCA notices without successful counter-notices may have their account permanently terminated.

Non-U.S. notices

For copyright claims outside the United States (e.g., EU Copyright Directive Article 17, UK CDPA), contact dmca@sinaicinema.com. We apply the same review process and respond in compliance with applicable local law.

Trademark, privacy, and other complaints

This policy addresses copyright infringement only. For trademark, publicity, privacy, defamation, or other content complaints, email legal@sinaicinema.com.

Abuse of this process

We take fraudulent, harassing, and bad-faith notices seriously. Material misrepresentations in a DMCA notice or counter-notice may result in liability. Repeat abusers may be blocked from submitting further notices.
